Recently I visited China and spent a while in the north-eastern city of
Anshan. Anshan is famous for Anshan Steel, once the largest industry in
China (during the early period of industrialisation of the People's
Republic of China). It also has some nice tourist attractions that we
visited, such as a zoo with two lovely pandas, a giant Buddha carved
from a single block of jade, and the Thousand Mountains national park.

I found a lovely coffee shop near where we were staying, Ri Changxuming
Cafe. Actually, this is just how my phone translated the name, I'm not
sure how to actually write the name in English. They had the name "County
Road Cafe" also printed, so we will go with that as their name.

Anyway, they have two locations in Anshan. The shop itself is great,
very cozy with some nice comfortable sofa chairs down the back. The vibe
feels like coffee shops I had visited in Japan, very low-key and
welcoming.

The coffee I tried on the first day there was amazing. It was from Costa
Rica and had the name "Canet Musician Series Bach". It was so good that
I ended up going back and visiting the shop another 4 more times during
our stay. All of the five coffees I tried were incredible, and ranged
from nice and sweet (like the first Bach coffee), to very juicy (a coffee
from the Yunnan province in china), to some nice 'richer' tastes, like
a coffee with vanilla and whiskey notes, and another with lychee and
brandy notes.

I also bought some coffee while I was there. I'm not sure if this is
common, but the woman working there spent some time hand-selecting the
beans before weighing them and packaging them, which I thought was an
amazing touch. They also roast the beans there themselves.

It's unlikely that anyone reading this will find themselves in Anshan,
but if you do, this coffee shop is highly recommended!
