try writing a short poem (or a few, if you’re inspired) that follows the beats of a classic joke. Emphasize the interplay between the form of the poem – such as the line breaks – and the punchline.
I’m terrible at writing jokes, it’s probably also the reason why I skipped the prompt on April 11th which was also related to humour. Still, I like the idea of trying to write a short poem, so I’ve tried one below, without the humour.
The wether was terrible here yesterday (in mid-April!).
He slowly began to notice
the way the raindrops
eroded his will
