Plot
Today’s prompt:
Today, we’d like to challenge you to write – without consulting the book – a poem that recounts the plot, or some portion of the plot, of a novel that you remember having liked but that you haven’t read in a long time.
Following today’s prompt, this poem is about a famous book I read when I was a teenager.
Seaside town, small
boats knocking against one another
in low tide
One man far apart,
deep within the horizon
seeking fame
or survival
Prize hard won
And slowly disappears again
On long journey home
Grand and fickle success,
Tired at the end of life
And a black cat crossing the road
